• Bewitched - The Complete Seventh Season:  This is great classic TV comedy at it’s best.  Samantha, a powerful member of the society of witches who falls in love with a mortal, Darrin Stephens. Much to the disgust of most of her family, she vows to give up witchcraft and become an ordinary suburban housewife, raising a family.  Never able to give up her heritage completely, the friction between the matriarchal, moneyless society of her birth and the patriarchal, capitalist society of modern advertising brings about many comical situations.  This show has a lot of re-watchability.


• Dragonheart - A New Beginning: not nearly as good as the first Dragonheart movie.  I would classify it as If Pressured: Would only watch it if a friend brought it over and insisted on watching it.


• Noah's Arc: Jumping the Broom:  I’m very excited this is out on DVD now, I loved the series and can’t wait to find out what happens.  For more read: Theater or Renter October 2008, and In Theater: Noah’s Arc: Jumping the Broom.


• Madagascar - Escape 2 Africa:  I really loved the first film and expect this one to be just as good, It’s a renter for me and now it’s on my list.  For more read Theater or Renter: November 2008.

Zack and Miri Make a Porno will be out on DVD soon, February 3, 2008.  It is a great movie and I will definitely own it.  Read my full review of the movie here.

The DVD will also contain:

• A bunch of deleted and extended scenes


• The full length documentary by Zak and Joey (last we heard, titled “Popcorn Porn”


• All of the “Money Shots” promo videos (uncensored, we assume with never before seen episodes that didn’t make the web)


• A blooper reel

The one massive omission here is an audio commentary track, we believe the first time it’s missing on a View Askew DVD. Kevin states an interest in using SModcast to record such a track that will run along with the film, so watch for it. (via News Askew)

Before you go out to buy it beware!

Apparently Walmart is going to carry the movie even though they pretend to not carry morally reprehensible material.  What is their solution?  They will merely change the packaging so that people could not call them on their hypocrisy the problem is that parents will have less of an idea what the movie is about and could buy this for their teens.

This is keeping with their shallow trend of following the dollar then trying to maintain their beliefs, although I thought they were silly to start with.  My only question is why not just have the courage to either stand up for one’s beliefs and not release it or put it on the shelf's with the full title.

Review of:  Zack and Miri Make a Porno

Overall Rating: 10

Zack and Miri Make a Porno is another great film written and directed by Kevin Smith.  Yet again he pushed the boundaries, made us laugh and think all the while remembering the most important part, giving the audience a great experience.

This movie is a beautiful, hilarious, modern romance where lifelong platonic friends look to solve their respective cash flow problems by making an adult film together. As the cameras roll, however, the duo soon realize their true feelings for each other.

The movie begins with a great set up that is swift, succinct, and sent the audience roaring with laughter from the jokes.  The characters are a real and believable group of misfits that we have come to expect from Kevin’s movies.  The pace is just stunning.  After the movie was over, all four of us sat there waiting and wanting more.

I was amazed at how Kevin was able to take such bawdy and provocative material as pornography and actually make it thoughtful, artful, and beautiful.  I also enjoyed how Zack and Miri’s transition is about them finding what they are passionate about and how a passionate person can inspire that lust for life in those around them, so true.

The ending was thoroughly satisfying wrapping up all of the loose ends brought up in the film and showing all of the characters development.  Do not leave the theater when the movie concludes.  After the credits they show a hilarious and touching dénouement.  This film is not for the faint of heart or young audience due to the irreverent humor, nudity, and language.  That said I absolutely enjoyed Zack and Miri Make a Porno it’s worth seeing multiple times in the theater and I will have to own it.

Yea! Another Kevin Smith Film!  Definitely a theater though I am biased as a fan of his works.  Kevin has a wonderful, thoughtful, irreverent sense of humor that he puts into his films which not only makes them entertaining but also insightful.  Zack and Miri Make a Porno was brought out of Kevin’s fascination with the public’s obsession with pornography and so I expect this project will explore more of those types of nuances.  Read Theater or Renter October for more information.

Jason Mewes returns for this film which of course begs the question how naked will he be?  Watch The Trailer here in the P:S HQ.  Zack and Miri Make a Porno hit the theater on October 31 and I can’t wait.
